iTunes Equalizer for Harman Kardon Soundsticks II

soundstickseq.png

This is about as obscure as it gets, but I thought I’d share. It’s my iTunes equalizer settings for the Harman/Kardon Soundsticks. They don’t sound very good on “Flat” and after a lot of fidgeting around, I got these settings which seem to work well with all sorts of music, classical, rock, and pop (but turn up the 32, 125 and 250 a few notches for particularly dense works like Bach’s Magnificat.)

These settings would probably also be of use to anyone with a 2.1 sound system that has almost no bass response on the satellites.

Ooh thanks, I’ve just hooked up to dads soundsticks and was wondering what setting to put them on when this landed in netnewswire!

Sounded very tinny to start with, then I realised his bass wasn’t working :(

Not bad, but ‘flat’ seems to work better for me - not enough middle in your curve for my old ears.

BTW, you know that you can lean the sticks back? Push them back so they are pointing at your ears - makes a huge difference - some weird effect from the vertical speaker placement.

Doing that does bring out a whole ton more treble :)
